Description
The M2 Mirror Assembly (PN 700002781) is a critical OEM optical component installed inside the optical bench of the Waters 2998 Photodiode Array (PDA) Detector. Working in conjunction with the M1 mirror assembly, filter flag, aperture holder, and diffraction grating, the M2 mirror redirects light emitted by the deuterium lamp through the flow cell onto the photodiode array sensor. Precision-engineered with high-reflectivity UV coatings, it ensures high optical throughput, low baseline noise, and accurate spectral resolution across the 190–800 nm wavelength range. It is used for detector optical alignment and maintenance when low light intensity or baseline instability occurs.
